About Us
The Entrepreneurs Association (EA) is part of the University’s Edward M. Muldoon Center For Entrepreneurship. Unique amongst most educational institutions nationwide, the Muldoon Center consists of an Academic Arm headed by Professor Jack Soper, Ph.D., the Kahl Chair in Entrepreneurship and a Business Association (EA) consisting of operating Companys headed by Mark Hauserman. The Muldoon Center is housed in the John and Mary Jo Boler School of Business at John Carroll University.
Students participate in the Association through the Masters Program. For a description of this program click on the "Membership" tab above.
Both the Academic arm and the Business Association (EA) of the Muldoon Center are endowed programs.
The Muldoon Center was established in 1999 to promote the study and teaching of entrepreneurship as a career path and as a force for positive change in the community by using the resources of the Boler School and other Entrepreneur Association members to help Member Companies to grow their businesses. The Center was inaugurated with a gift from Edward M. Muldoon (JCU ’48), to promote the Boler School’s outreach capabilities to the region’s business community.
Previously, in 1998, John J. Kahl, Jr. (JCU ’62) endowed the John J. Kahl, Sr. Chair in Entrepreneurship in honor of his father. The gifts of Mr. Muldoon and Mr. Kahl were matched by a gift from the John and Mary Jo Boler Challenge Fund.
Our typical member is the owner or key executive of their Company. Less than 50% of the Association members have any affiliation with John Carroll University. Our members share a commitment to entrepreneurship, a love for life-long learning, and a willingness to share and work with one another to solve problems and help assure that each Association member achieves his or her own personal vision of business success. The Association is a Learning Network not a Selling Network. Our members are strongly encouraged to build strong relationships with their fellow members to help them work on their businesses.
