Entrepreneurs of the Year and the EA 6/6/2007

Each year, the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year (EOY) award honors entrepreneurs whose ingenuity, hard work, and perseverance have created and sustained successful, growing business ventures.

This year, 3 Entrepreneurs Association members have been named finalists in Northeast Ohio: Steve Ciuni of Drake Construction, Betsy Julianno of Litigation Management Inc, and Bill Valerian of Liberty Bank.  They will be honored at an awards dinner on June 26 at the Renaissance Hotel downtown, and they will be judged for the United States National Competition in November.

In addition to our winners, the Association afforded you the opportunity to hear the stories of two other finalists at our annual Hidden Gems.  This year Len Pagon talked about the development of Brulant at Corporate College and last year Scott Mueller talked about Dealer Tire at the Hyland Software meeting.

You may also be interested to know that Ernst and Young invited students from our CEO Program to participate in the EOY program as observers on the due diligence team visiting each nominated business.  Students sat in on the presentation by the CEO and CFO of the companies and wrote a report for Ben Stein, the Partner in charge of the Northeast Ohio program.

Congratulations all!
