New Leadership appointed for the Boler School 6/6/2007
Dr. Karen Schuele, formerly Associate Dean of the Boler School and Director of Graduate Business Programs, has been appointed the Acting Dean of the Boler School of Business, effective April 26.

Dr. Schuele first served John Carroll as a Visiting Instructor in Accountancy from 1984-86 and again from 1989-91. She joined the university as a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor in 1991. Dr. Schuele holds a B.S. from Case Western Reserve University, an M.P.A. (Master in Professional Accounting) from the University of Texas, and a Ph.D. from Kent State University. She is also holder of the KPMG Chair in Accountancy and is a CPA (Ohio).
Dr. Schuele is a member of the Association’s Mentoring Committee.
Dr Jim Martin, Ph.D. (Purdue University) has been appointed Interim Associate Dean and Director of Graduate Business Programs effective June 1st. Jim is a Professor of Marketing in the Boler School of Business. His areas of expertise include strategic marketing planning, quantitative analysis and customer behavior.
Jim consults with a wide variety of companies in the Northeast Ohio area on market analysis, market research and marketing strategy development issues.
Based on his international work, he was awarded a Fulbright Scholar for the 1998 year during which he spent a semester teaching and doing research in Croatia.
He has been awarded the Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award from the students in the Boler School of Business, he received the Wasmer Teaching Award, and he was chosen as one of Ohio Magazine’s Excellence in Education Achievers.
