Lamar Ratcliffe, Chair of membership announced at the committee meeting yesterday that the renewal of members was one of the most successful in association history. Over 93% of the membership renewed, many joining the ranks of the Masters by sponsoring a student for this year.
The committee, which sets the standards for the organization, and monitors the acceptance of applicants, added two new members: Judy Harshman, President of Applied Laser Technologies and Regina Olbinsky, President of the Career Group. “We are pleased to welcome these women entrepreneurs to the committee” said Lamar. “They reflect the increasing importance of women business owners in the EA and Northeast Ohio”.
The committee reviewed the standards for the association and extended them through this year. An entrepreneur member must have been in business at least 5 years and have at least One Million Dollars in revenue. Professional members (lawyers, accountants, etc) must have been in their practice for at least 15 years. In order to maintain a “high touch” environment, the total membership of the association is limited to 250 members.
Lamar announced that the Professional category, which is limited to 25% of the membership, is temporarily closed.
