Take advantage of the Business Advisory Network
Every entrepreneur is familiar with “lonely at the top.” Many of your company’s key decisions rely on your sound judgment and experience. One of the strengths of the association is the ability to access the expertise that has made you so successful. Our business owners have a broad range of hard won knowledge and experience. From these realities came the concept of the association’s Business Advisory Network (BAN).
Each year, the membership is surveyed to ascertain their strengths in areas such as: Marketing, Finance, Succession, Strategy, Banking, Operations, Management, I.T, Manufacturing and Sales. In the survey, members are asked if they would be willing to share their special skills with other members who might be wrestling with a challenge in that area.
When you face a problem in any of these areas, all you have to do is call or e-mail Mark, and he will send you a brief form that you can use to summarize the issue. In the following week or two, the BAN Committee, chaired by Chip Gear, CEO of the Technology House, will review your request and our inventory of members to see who might have the appropriate expertise to talk with you. Generally, a breakfast is arranged with two members who can bring their experience to the table to discuss possible approaches you might consider.
There is no charge for this service, which is open to all EA members. If you would like to be a part of our database, please take our skills survey. By agreeing to take the survey, you are not volunteering for an assignment. When we have a task to request of you, we will call you, find out if you are available, and discuss the specifics. At all times, we will be careful to honor the amount of time you are able to give. We also will keep your responses confidential. If you have not taken the survey yet, please e-mail Mark by clicking here so he can send you the link to the survey.
